What “style” of furniture do you create?
My style could best be described as “eclectic”—it is inspired by a range of styles and periods. I have been drawn to concepts of “reinvention” and incorporate this theme by taking old, often discarded furnishings and reworking them into stylish, modern pieces. My work appeals to clients with a sense of interior style that is hip, funky, and fun. Click here to read an article where I talk about my style in more detail.
Do you offer interior design services?
Absolutely! In fact, I spend about half my time on interior design work for a variety of clients with a variety of budgets. Regardless of the client, I like to combine my awareness of fresh, modern trends with my inherent bargain-hunting skills to bring an affordable, fresh, and unique style to interior design. I talk a little about my interior design work in one of my recent articles. Feel free to give me a call if you're interested in my design services. I offer an initial, 3-hour consultation for only $200. It's an affordable way to get concrete ideas for your project, while also determining if I'm the right fit for your needs.
Do you have a shop or store?
My space on E. 84th Street is a workshop and place where I can show my completed work. Strictly speaking, it is not a shop. I show by appointment and sometimes hold open house hours for people to drop by. My schedule is pretty flexible, so just give me a call at 917-721-0942 and I'm sure we can find a convenient time to schedule a visit.
Can you create a custom piece for me?
Yes, I can create or redo furnishings specifically for you. I can take a piece you own, a piece of my own, or find a piece that meets your needs and restyle it for your interior. Just keep in mind that I generally work with existing furniture (including existing frames), rather than making a piece from scratch. So, you'll need to have some flexibility on what you want. A custom order requires advance payment. For more information see my custom rework page.
